NPR had a story about the 400th birthday of Rembrandt and began by discussing his 1660 self-portrait. Susan Stamberg suggested that if listeners were close to their computers, they could bring up a photo of the painting at the NPR website. Even radio has become “multimedia” these days, and considering its demographics, NPR can probably assume that their listeners are at least near a computer if not actually listening to the broadcast on the web. (That’s how I do it…)
