We had a lovely day yesterday and I spent time “opening” the front porch for the season. I swept, washed the furniture and filled the hummingbird feeders. This table was one of our finds last year when we moved in, tucked away in a barn, completely rusted. I sanded it and then painted it a lovely shade of green. The chairs came from the local dump.
The photo idea was sunglasses. And I realized I don’t have a pair right now. But this candle holder caught my eye as I was cleaning the porch: it’s glass and it reflects the sun.
I lost my station wagon to an accident last summer and ended up with one of our pickup trucks. I LOVE driving it although I still struggle with parking and getting on the ferry with this big vehicle.

Found this old silver fork in a drawer when we moved into the farmhouse. I haven’t polished it.
I actually went to a meeting most of the day but didn’t remember to take a picture so here’s the real farmer in the family weeding the peas!
The farm is right along the rail line so while I was planting kale and weeding peas, I listened for the trains.
I am visiting in Cornwall, Pennsylvania, and the condo is right along a rail trail. I timed my walk so the trestle was right in front of me at 5 PM. I like the way the light falls…
